SHEAR
SHEAR is a spectral dynamics processor. Instead of acting on waveform peaks in the time domain (like a regular clipper, limiter, or gate)
SHEAR breaks the audio into hundreds of frequency bins via an FFT, then processes individual bins above a threshold you set. The result is reassembled into audio.
